Proposed Kentucky Tennis and Pickleball Center on Hold

LETTER FROM USTA KENTUCKY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, JASON MILLER

I am sure by now you have heard Louisville Mayor Greenberg announced the proposed facility will not move forward at Joe Creason Park. Clearly, we are upset by this development as this project is monumental for tennis and community on so many levels. It is disheartening and unfortunate.

However, we will continue to focus on the positive. It is our belief this project still has life at other locations. We will double down on our tennis facility maintenance and growth efforts across Louisville and Kentucky. To me – it is imperative to ensure the long-term growth of the sport that has impacted each of us so deeply.

We have been so encouraged by the willingness of tennis players to step up and write letters, show up to meetings, influence their networks, and come together as a community. Please continue to do so. If you need to know where your input is needed most please just connect with us. Your voice is often stronger as community members than ours as a tennis organization.

We are so thankful for the Kentucky Tennis and Pickleball Center organization led by Will and Fred Davis for their continued support and work on this project. It is appreciated and not taken for granted.

My door is always open to hear about your ideas and thoughts on how we improve our tennis infrastructure anywhere in Kentucky.
