Red Ball Challenge is Changing Lives

"Springfield Junior Tennis was formed, and we had the time of our lives soon learning that the Net Generation Red Ball curriculum taught tennis skills and also valuable life skills for kids to apply at home and at school" says Tichaedza (Ticha) Chikuni.  "Even my wife, Stella Chikuni, 30 weeks pregnant had a great time along with the awesome parents volunteers that facilitated clinics."

Weekly, the kids would report back that they would be practicing in the garage, on walls, and wished their school had a space to hit tennis balls. But they pressed on, and last week raised $200 which they donated to the Springfield St. Catharine Dominican Sisters of Peace. Another $200 from an anonymous donor will go to a family in need.

Stephen and Lisa Conn helped Ticha get his start in Jackson, Kentucky. So there is a true respect for all those who invest in tennis and in their communities.  Ticha looks forward to be challenged by the needs of the kids to grow tennis and community they call home.
