A ribbon cutting celebration was held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Bob Amos Park in Pikeville, KY. The 6 tennis courts were re-surfaced and brand-new fencing went up at Bob Amos Park.
The courts were funded by the City of Pikeville to encourage more citizens to get out, exercise, and remain active for years to come.
The courts are free to the public and will be used by 4 high schools in the area (Pikeville, Pike County Central, Shelby Valley, & Belfry) and the University of Pikeville for home matches. The Kenny Huffman Tennis Classic is held in Pikeville annually and they hope to host more tournaments at the new courts including USTA events, high school tournaments, and college invitationals.
