STARS OF 2017 SHINE AT STEPHEN MATHER MEMORIAL DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP

Some of Kentucky's winningiest players of 2017 continued their hot years by taking doubles titles at the Stephen Mather Memorial Doubles Championship.  Annie Sims became the first player to reach 15 titles on the year, parterning with Sarah Fazlagic in the Girls 16s.  Carson Kroll brought home his 14th title, winning the Boys 12s with Timothy Wagoner.  Fazlagic and Wagoner have both surpassed 10 titles themselves.  The only first time winner at the event was Aadit Adlakha, who partnered with Evan Hammond for the Boys 10s title.  Other winners included Ben Rueff-Tommy Scanlan (Boys 14s), Logan Beaver-Joey Keal (Boys 16s), Alex Wesbrooks-Brandon Chou (Boys 18s), Margaret Schulte-Emma Zelichinok (Girls 10s), Hadley Appling-Reagan Mangan (Girls 14s), and Carrie Beckman-Halli Trinkle (Girls 18s).    

GUREVICH, RUEFF, AND BECKMAN KEEPS TITLES IN KY AT ICY HOT SOUTHERN LEVEL 2

Facing some of the toughest competition of the year at an in-state tournament, Sam Gurevich (Boys 10s), Claire Rueff (Girls 10s), and Carrie Beckman (Girls 16s) won singles titles at the Icy Hot Southern Level 2 Indoor Fall Championships in Louisville.  Gurevich was the top seed and showed why, not dropping a set on his way to the title.  Rueff saved her best for last, beating the number 1 seed in the final 4-0, 4-0, and Beckman proved why she is one of Southern's best, beating fellow Kentuckian Olivia Gallagher 6-1, 6-2 in the finals.  Xavier Ecarma also had a great showing in the event, finishing runner-up in the Boys 16s division.  

COLE MOSS TAKES 2 AT THE LTC THANKSGIVING JUNIOR CLASSIC

Cole Moss of Covington couldn't be defeated at the LTC Thanksgiving Junior Classic, winning both the singles and doubles titles in the Boys 18s division.  Moss partnered with Jon-Michael Schulte for the doubles crown.  Jeremie Park won his 2nd title of the month by winning the Boys 12s.  Niko Klyachkin won his 4th title of the year in the Boys 12s, and other winners included Jonah Carr, Heinrich Dreyer, Bailey Scott, Claire Pinkston, and Konnor Gallagher.  The wins by Dreyer, Pinkston, and Gallagher were their first titles of the year.
