Carrie Beckman Makes Semis in Doubles at National Championship

Carrie Beckman continued her spectacular play in 2019 by making it all the way into the semifinals in Girls 16s doubles at the National Hard Court Championships.  Beckman partnered with Emma Charney on the accomplishment.  Beckman also won a main draw match to advance to the Round of 64 in singles.  Other Kentuckians who participated in the national championships were Hadley Appling, Grace Katzman, Lauren Waddles, and Matt Halpin.  

Krishnani and Duggal win Southern Level 2 titles in Louisiana

A great group of Kentuckians invaded the Southern Level 2 tournament in Louisiana and Sanam Krishnani and Evan Duggal came away with singles titles.  Krishnani won her title in Girls 12s and Duggal won the Boys 14s, beating another Kentuckian, Sahil Krishnani, in the finals.  Landon Ecarma, Tyler Bush, and Nejla Zukic all made the semifinals of their respective divisions.

Eli Stephenson Wins 3 Matches at National Clay Courts

Eli Stephenson of Louisville proved to be a national contender in the Boys 14s division, winning 3 matches at the National Clay Court Championships in Florida.  Stephenson beat players from Texas and Northern California in the main draw before falling in the Round of 64 to the 7th seed, 6-4, 6-3.  He then won a backdraw match against an opponent from Texas before falling to another seeded player.

Alex Horn a Finalist at Southern Level 2, Olivia Gallagher wins Doubles

Alex Horn made the deepest run in singles of any Kentuckian at the July Southern Level 2 Icy Hot Championships, making the finals of the boys 18s draw.  Horn lost in the finals in 2 close sets.  Three other Kentuckians made the quarterfinals of their draws: Haley Klein (Girls 14s), Sahil Krishnani (Boys 14s), and Zach White (Boys 16s).  Olivia Gallagher brought home a title, winning the Girls 16s doubles draw as the top seed.
