NINE KENTUCKIANS TAKE TITLES AT SOUTHERN LEVEL 3 IN TENNESSEE

A whopping nine different players from Kentucky took home titles from the KRC Mid-Spring event in Knoxville, a Southern Level 3.  Anna Du (Girls 10s), Charles Lewis (Boys 10s), and Ellie Hammond (Girls 12s) all took home singles titles while Vivien Englund-Laurel Slechter (Girls 10s), Grace Katzman-Haley Klein (Girls 12s), and Carson Kroll-William Lewis (Boys 12's) all won doubles titles.  Slechter and Katzman also finished runner-up in singles and Raluca Velcu (Girls 18s) finished runner-up in doubles.

ABEL PRUDE BEATS BROTHER TO TAKE PEN TEN SPRING JUNIOR CHALLENGE TITLE

It's rare that a pair of brothers get to square off in a tournament final but the Prude family celebrated that accomplishment as Abel beat Micah for the Boys 16s title.  Micah was the top seed in the event but it was Abel who got the final laugh.  Jessica Wells of Gilbertsville also took home a title, winning the Girls 12s division.

ADDISON HALLER TAKES TWO TITLES AT LIRC KY JUNIOR SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP

Addison Haller took every title she could muster in the Girls 10s division at the LIRC KY Junior Spring Championship, winning both the singles title and doubles title with Hampton Johnson.  Yago Castellanos (Boys 10s) and Nikolas Jones (Boys 14s) each won their first titles of 2018 at the tournament.  Sam Gurevich took a doubles title for the 2nd consecutive tournament, pairing up with Cole Riley for the Boys 14s crown.

CLAIRE RUEFF ROLLS THROUGH LIRC SPRING JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Claire Rueff dominated the field in the Girls 12s at her home tournament, the LIRC Spring Junior Championships.  Rueff only dropped 1 set in 4 matches and took the finals in straight sets over Willow Renton.  William Lewis (Boys 12s), Sammy Goldentul (Boys 16s), and Angelina Herrera (Girls 16s) also won singles titles.  A couple of doubles pairs also won their second titles of the year: William Lewis-Sam Gurevich (Boys 12s) and Willow Renton-Avery Voss (Girls 12s).

ECARMA AND WADDLES MAKE SEMIS AT SOUTHERN LEVEL 2

Landon Ecarma had a big weekend in Birmingham at the Southern Level 2 Championships, making the semifinals in both singles and doubles.  Grace Katzman had the biggest weekend for the girls, making the quarterfinals in singles and semifnals as doubles as an unseeded team.  Ellie Hammond and Alana Sims partnered up to make the doubles quarterfinals as well.  In the older divisions, Lauren Waddles made the semifinals in Girls 16s singles, and Olivia Gallagher and Nelja Zukic partnered up to make the finals in doubles.

COLON AND GASSER TAKE TITLES AT LTC SPRING SERIES #1

Despite the cold temps, Nicholas Colon and Bernadette Gasser still excelled and won singles titles in the 10U division at the LTC Spring Series #1.  Colon won both of his match without dropping a set, while Gasser travelled from Louisville to win her 2 matches in dominating fashion.
