KEAL-BEAVER STUN FIELD AT JASON ISAACS MEMORIAL DOUBLES

In a tournament dominated by seeded players, the tandem of Joey Keal and Logan Beaver proved to be the excpetion, going from unseeded to the title in the Boys 16s division.  The duo beat the 1, 2, and 3 seeds on their way to the title.  Other winners at the event were Aiden Vilo-Eric Ormsby (Boys 12s), Ben Rueff-Tommy Scanlan (Boys 14s), Parker Clarke-Alex Wesbrooks (Boys 18s), Ellie Hammond-Lilah Shallcross (Girls 12s), Annie Sims-Alana Sims (Girls 14s), and Carrie Beckman-Nejla Zukic (Girls 18s).    

GROUP OF 1ST TIME WINNERS AT LTC WINTER SERIES #2

A large number of players took home their first career titles and/or first titles of 2018 at the LTC Winter Series #2.  Yuvraj Dasari won the Boys 10s title, Nathan Lawson took home Boys 12s, Evan Lawson won the Boys 18s, Karyana Bradshaw dominated the Girls 10s field, Maria Hayes won Girls 14s singles, and Rebekah Trent won the Girls 18s draw.  Quinn Maguet was not a first time winner though, taking home his 2nd title of the year in the Boys 14s.  

KROLL AND WHITE DOMINANT AT BLUEGRASS WINTER SLAM (12'S AND 16'S)

Carson Kroll won more titles than any other boy in Kentucky in 2017 and now has started 2018 off with a bang by winning the singles and doubles divisions of Boys 12s at the Bluegrass Winter Slam.  Kroll only lost 5 games in 3 matches on his way to the singles crown and partnered with William Lewis to win doubles.  Zachary White also dominated the field in Boys 16s, winning singles as the top seed and doubles with John Guthrie.  Clare Hudson (Girls 12s) and Amanda Miller (Girls 16s) also provided to have earned their #1 seeds by winning their draws without dropping a set.  

BECKMAN INTO SEMIFINALS AT NATIONAL LEVEL 2

Carrie Beckman has won 2 matches in the consolation draw and is currently in the semifinals of the doubles draw for Girls 16s at the National Level 2 tournament in Austin, Texas.  We will update her final results once matches are completed.    

CHOU-CLARKE BIG WINNERS FOR BOYS, MANGAN AND MILLER SISTERS GIRLS CHAMPS AT BLUEGRASS WINTER SLAM

The big guns were out for the first Southern Level 4 of the year in Kentucky at the Bluegrass Winter Slam in Lexington.  Brandon Chou and Parker Clarke each won Boys 18s draws in singles and then partnered up to also take the boys doubles title.  Reagan Mangan also won 2 titles, winning the singles and doubles in Girls 14s, and the Miller Sisters (Madison and Amanda) also were big winners, with Madison winning Girls 14s singles, Amanda winning Girls 18s singles, and the pair partnering up for the Girls 18s doubles crown.  Ben Rueff was also a 2-time winner, taking home singles and doubles in Boys 14s.  Other winners at the event were Jonathon Harper (Boys 10 Singles), Tommy Scanlan (Boys 14 Doubles), Laurel Slecther (Girls 10 Singles), and Julie Roberts (Girls 14 Doubles). 

KENTUCKIANS WITH INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCES AT SOUTHERN LEVEL 1-A

Nelja Zukic and Carrie Beckman both advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Level 1-A Championships before dropping tough matches. Zukic will partner with Olivia Gallagher in a doubles semifinal while Emma Charney will be playing in the other Girls 16s doubles semi.  Matt Halpin also remains alive in the Boys 18s doubles draw, playing in the finals this afternoon.  Xavier Ecarma had a very good showing at the event as well, making the quarterfinals in singles and semifinals in doubles.  Results will be updated as soon as they are posted.
