Sims sisters each win division of Kentucky Junior Open, Scanlan and Englund continue strong 2017

Alana and Annie Sims continued their strong play in 2017, each winning a singles division of the Kentucky Junior Open.  Annie took home the 16U crown, winning 3 matches in straight sets, including taking a set in each match 6-0.  Alana won the 12U division as the top seed, taking down 2nd seed Ellie Hammond in the finals 6-3, 6-3.  On the boys side, Tommy Scanlan and Alex Englund continued strong 2017 campaigns, winning titles in the 14U and 12U divisions.  Both players are ranked in the top 5 in their age division in Kentucky.  

Luke Colson wins Southern Level 3 doubles, semifinalist in singles

Luke Colson had a strong showing at the Southern Level 3 Alabama Spring Junior Championships last weekend, winning the doubles draw and making the semifinals of the singles draw.  It was Colson's best performance at a Southern Level 3 this season.  Katherine Bush also made the semifinals of the Girls 14s doubles draw and Tyler Bush was a quarterfinalist in singles in the Boys 14s division.  

Samuel Jones and Madison Miller Take Home 2 Titles at Queen-King Junior Championships

It was a huge weekend for 1 boy and 1 girl at the Queen-King Junior Championships in Georgetown, as both Samuel Jones and Madison Miller won singles and doubles crowns at the event.  Jones won the Boys 18s singles draw as the 2-seed and then partnered with Ian Walton to win the doubles.  Miller won the Girls 14U division and played with Megan Moore to win the doubles.  The 2 titles pushed Miller's title count in 2017 to five, while Jones has won 3 championships.  Steven Larkin, Parks Gullett, Kayla Corbin, and Francheska Monsen also won titles at the event.  

Owen Brown wins first title at Leon Zegart Junior Championships, Ben Rueff wins 5th title of 2017

Owen Brown of Clarkson took home his first title of the year this weekend, winning the Boys 12U division at the Leon Zegart Junior Championships in Louisville.  Brown was the only non-Louisville resident to win a title at the event.  Ben Rueff continued a very strong 2017 winning his 5th title in the Boys 14U division.  Jacob Scheinler, Sharon Macumber, and Clare Hudson also took home singles titles at the event.  Caroline Elliott and Katherine Hudson won the Girls 14U doubles title, their first championship in 2017 and Lilah Shallcross and Hadley Appling won their first events as well in the Girls 12U division.
