Adult League Championship Charity Donations

Adult League Championship Charity Donations

A Tennis Community that Cares

This has been a very unprecedented year for everyone.  The challenges we are facing daily are unlike any other.  As we approach this season of gratefulness and gratitude, USTA Kentucky is certainly grateful for you, our tennis playing family!

Tennis and charity seem to be what hold us firm in these times of instability and is the baseline that bring us joy when sometimes joy is not easily found.

In keeping with what we have determined is important to us as an organization, this year in leu of championship giveaways for our Adult League State championship winners, donations were made in their name.

Each team that participated in the State Championships were asked to identify a charity of choice.  The teammates came together to select a charity that was important to them as a group.  At the conclusion of the championship, each winning team had a donation of $100 made to their chosen charity in their name.

The players shared our feelings that this is the year above any other that these donations would be greatly appreciated by the charities.  The players could not have been happier and more supportive of this decision.

USTA Kentucky is thrilled to be surrounded by such compassionate players.  The tennis community certainly stands together to support those in need as was shown in our Tennis Starts with Love campaign that was launched at the onset of the pandemic to help support tennis professionals and facilities that had suffered during the shutdown of play.

During the 5 state Championships, $3,500 was donated to 25 different charities.  Below is the list of charities that received donations during the 2020 championship season.
