  • Professor of Health Science at Eastern Kentucky University
  • Member of NCAA Committee on Substance Abuse, and Drug Testing
  • At retirement, ranked in Top 15 Coaches in Nation in number of victories
  • 94% of all Tennis Student/Athletes earned degrees
  • Eastern Kentucky University newly constructed courts named "Tom Higgins" Tennis Courts
  • Head Boy's and Girl's Coach @ Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, South Carolina
  • Won the South Carolina State Boy's Championship 7 of 11 years as head coach
  • Won the South Carolina Girl's State Championship  2003, 2011 and 2012
  • Named "SC Coach-of-the-Year" 2006, 2009, 2012
  • Elected to Porter-Gaud Athletic Hall of Fame 2015
