Tennis Officials Needed!

Want to watch the best tennis in the USTA Southern Section and get paid to do it? Help young tennis players grow and develop their sportsmanship? If you are interested, the Kentucky Tennis Umpires Association is looking for new officials.

You must be a USTA member and go through the USTA training program. Now is the perfect time to start. After training, officials begin by working local junior tournaments. Later opportunities are available to work college dual matches and tournaments, adult USTA tournaments, national adult and junior tournaments, and if you qualify, professional lines.

The best officials usually have tennis experience at the junior, high school, USTA adult, or college levels but anyone can become an official if you do the training and past the tests.

If you are interested, please email Brenda Emery, State Chair of Tennis Officials at and she will let you know the steps you need to take to become an official.
